Daimler Double Six Series II 1978
Hi all,
After a lengthy hiatus due to a medical problem I'm now back reassembling the engine of my fuel injected V12.
The car was a genuine 'barn find' purchased in a non going condition and has not run for nearly 20 years..
I discovered numerous problems on what I hope is a basically sound engine including a misplaced valve shim, seized centrifugal advance and 5 of the 12 injectors totally gummed up.
I have removed the exhaust gas recirculation and the air injection.
A couple of days ago I dragged the car from the back of the shed and resumed work on it. My wife and I gave it a wash and a polish. It looks absolutely stunning. The red interior is a total time capsule ( hood lining has sagged but I will get to that). The interior is permeated with that unique slightly musty British luxury car smell than once experienced is never forgotten.
I must confess I'm a little rattled by the numerous plumbing items that must still be connected include many small vacuum pipes, not to mention the routing of the complex wiring harness.
Can anyone direct me towards some detailed photos of a V12 engine bay to assist me.
kind regards
Al

The Hayne's manual is pretty good and is still available new. I believe. It covers both the XJ12 and XJS. Don't forget to download KIrby's book Combine those with the helpful folks on this forum and you'll be in good hands. Best of Luck!
