Your "location" says "nyc". Must be quite a road trip. I'm sure I can speak for others when I say we would love to hear the details!

I've driven by a few times, but never had the opportunity to see the sign. After doing business and visiting XK's Unlimited, I'd drive from San Luis Obispo to Fresno, but that was before 2002, which is when the sign was actually placed at the junction.
Cheers,

bill c:

indeed it was quite a road trip... it's actually not over yet. the car is still on the left coast.

and many a detail to relate.

in fact when that photo was taken we had just broken the alternator belt. we were trying to make it to paso robles before the car ran out of electricity.

thanks to clive at british import auto, who happened to be 30 miles from when i noticed the belt snap. he was able to get us in and out with a new belt quickly.
