Would you consider building one with industrial grade fire/fluid sleeving?

Example:

Knitted Fire Sleeve¡¡Powered By fire sleeve, firesleeve, heat reflective sleeve, b raided sleeve

JaguarSpecialties had mine built with new oem plugs and all, I think it was like 700 or something like that? Mind you thats after the bad Canadian exchange rate. You can check SNG barrat they sometimes get batches. Cost was fine if you account for labour and expertise to do it right, and the product itself is nicely done with better heat resistant wire.

Safari, are you making/selling these harnesses? If so, I’m interested in one for an ‘89 XJS convertible.

You will have to check your vins, as i think this one is only for early HEs, pretty sure the seller has others.

Buyers outside UK pay 20% less than face value, no VAT, makes it look quite attractive

William, thanks for the information. I will definitely be ordering one.

Are your harnesses made to original OEM spec or do they incorporate any upgrades for heat resistant wires or sheathing? If not, do you advise wrapping them in a heat resistant cover before installing.

Common practice when replacing the Fuel inj harness is to secure it to the fuel rail, out of Death Valley.

Thanks, that seems like such a simple solution it begs the question why didn’t do this as part of the factory spec?

3. All new connectors and terminals (no recycled parts).
4. Heat resistant fiberglass wire covering.
5. Each FI connector will be labeled with position number (A1, B1, A2, B2 etc.)
6. Estimated cost will be about $325.00 USD each.

I am still waiting for some parts to arrive so it will be a week or so before the first harness is completed. I will post pictures as soon as possible.

Also, I would like to make a harness for the older XJS that has the extra fuel injectors for cold starting. I need an old harness to get the pattern for the dimensions. If you have an old harness that I can use please let me know. This would also apply to those of you who need a harness for a Facelift XJS (1992-96), a Vanden Plas or any other V12 Jaguar. If you can send me an old harness then I will let you know if I can make a new one.

Thanks!

Mark

Don't get your hopes up. Safari, the OP, hasn't responded since 2016. And looking at his profile, he hasn't posted anything on the site since 2016 either.
