Default Dogs and cats, living together

We have a fleet of jags (well, 2) and a fleet of dogs (well, 2). Usually the 2 don't mix and we have to take a very old Integra if we want to have the dogs along. Until now that is !!

This is what happens when I've nothing else to fix on the XJS......

Believe it or not, underneath that plush plaid is 2 plastic laundry baskets from Target which got slightly modified then mounted on a piece of fiberboard. The chrome rail that normally lives on top of the cubby box was removed and I fitted 2 longer bolts so I can actually bolt the dog box into the car. There are eyelets bolted into the box that the dogs harnesses can be chained to, to prevent them from getting too energetic and falling out.

Add 2 French Bulldogs, some sun, and hey presto !

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :-)

That's a neat job although the basket clashes somewhat with the interior trim!
It reminds of someone at the end of the road when I was growing up; they used to drive around in a Triumph Herald convertible with an Irish Wolfhound sat bolt upright in the back seat, most amusing.

I love it!! I have 2 dogs myself (& 2 cats) the dogs ride pretty good but I don't think I havethe intestinal fortitude (read *****) to put themin the Jag, I will probably have $5k in the interior when it's done.

@Steve

Agree it doesn't quite match, but I'm Scottish and when I saw the tartan in the store I knew I had to have it! It was also on special offer and you know how us Scots like a bargain :-)

@Bill

I know what you mean. This was the best, least risk method I could think of. We actually shortened the chains last night so the dogs can't get their paws on the top of the basket. My XJS started off as a wreck, so it's never going to be a show car anyway. I'll look forward to pics of your interior when it's done. There's no nicer place to be than sitting in a properly sorted XJS interior.

Take care both

Love your car and your dogs!. Nice solution so they can ride along.
