Locked the doors with key and couldn't unlock the doors again. Tried wd40 that didn't work. Disconnected the battery connected it again and this seemed to work. Don't know if this was a coincidence or not. Has any one had this problem as well. Thx king 19

 

I had a similar problem with my XJ8. It was the battery going down. The battery was 5+ years old and would charge up full and then barely keep the charge after a 12 hour "rest".
I now replace my batteries at the 4 year point.
And I now use a battery maintainer with a external cable connected to
internal battery posts to keep them refreshed and it allows you to unlock your car
if the car is locked and the battery dies just by connecting the charger to the external charger cable.
