Default Driver door wont unlock - stuck!

Hi all,

I'm hoping someone might have some ideas - unfortunately my driver door is stuck in "locked" position.
I have alarm fitted which normally unlocks doors via remote transmitted but this does not seem to be working. In fact the whole mechanism seems to be stuck as I cant unlock with key or from inside the car.

Has anyone got experience of unjamming lock mechanism? Is rather frustrating as cant even get the door open to get the interior panel off.

Thanks in advance,
Euan

maybe I am forgetting something, but you should be able to remove the door panel from the inside. The only thing I can think of is maybe the metal tab on the front end to turn the lights on and off is actually screwed into the door and there is no access. In this case MAYBE you can still sit in the back seat with the drive seat ALL the way up and pull the panel out and reach your hand in there. From there you should be able to find the actuator and manually pull/push it to unlock the door.

If you haven't removed it before, know the door panel snaps on all the way around at the edges, hooks over the door at the top, and there is a screw hidden at the front of the armrest.
I honestly do think you could get enough flex to just put your hand into the panel to unlock it.

The only other comments I have is my lock mechanism has been stuck when someone opened the door while I was unlocking it. make sure the handle is all the way down.

Hope someone else can help if I wasn't of any

Vee - sorry is 4.0L '93 coupe
Sidescrollin - thanks for the info. I did have a try at getting the panel off but there is trim/seal in the way that prevents fingers getting in to pry it out.
I will have another go - if I do get in what would I be feeling/looking for?
Thanks again

Quick update - gave up on the door panel but a friend managed to "break in" by jimmying the lock mechanism from the top.
At least now the door will open and can get the door panel off to get at the mechanism although not sure I will be locking it again for a while.

you can also remove the side mirrors, if you have a long set of pliers with reduced movement you can grab the linkages as well.

My '96 locked me out also. I got the door open and took the lock solenoid out. I can use the key to unlock and lock the door.
