Drivers Side Seat

On my '94, the passenger seat will continue to move fore/aft for as long as you hold the switch. However, on the driver's side it will only move a couple of inches fore/aft regardless of how long you hold the switch down. Another press of the switch in the same direction moves it some more, etc, etc, etc. I always saw it as intentionally designed that way, kind of a safety cut out or something.

We have a 1999 US XK8. The left drivers seat when I hit the seat saved position, the seat moved all the way forward and the seat back moved forward as well, pushing me into the steering wheel! I can’t find a circuit breaker that’s bad, nor do the control modules look bad. Is there any thing else I can do to avoid the shop?
