Default Drivers Side window not working

Hello. Thank you for all the advices and it really helps me alot. Need another advice. My LH(driver side) window suddenly stopped working. I thought it was the switch. I switch the swithes from LH and RH and I know the that both the SW(LH and RH) works, looking for a suggestion on troubleshooting before i start removing the door panel. also need steps on removing panel just in case...Thanks

Since the switch is easy to pull out....Check for voltage at the switch before removing the door panel. Don't wanna pull it to find the problem in a totally different part of the circuit.

I think he means the wires going into the switch. You have already shown the switch itself isn't the problem. But it you have power going to the switch, then the problem could/would be somewhere else.

when mine quit (long ago now) I had power all the way to the motor. After cleaning the rails I gave the motor a sharp tap on top with a hammer (I forget where I read that) window worked fine for 7+ years till i sold her

Just unplug the wires going into the passengers (bad) switch and plug it into the drivers side (good) switch. If the window works, it's the switch.

he already swapped the switches and found out it works.

I was saying remove the switch and see if you had 12v on the wires going to the switch. If they don't have 12v then you have lost power further up the circuit and there would be no point in removing the door panel

Voltage to the *left* switch comes from the *right* switch. Since the left window works it's a fair bet the the right switch is getting power. Can't hurt to check voltage, though, just to be sure. Also check the terminals of the plug where the switch pins slide in. Sometimes the connections get loose.

I suspect a problem downstream of the switch, though.

Another clue to look for is interior lights dimming when the switch is pressed. If the lights dim a bit that suggests that the circuit is complete but the motor is drawing amps but not operating, or the window itself is stuck.

Cheers
DD
