EGR Fault ("Check Engine" Warning) - 1994 XJS

Very easy to get at. Just buy a new one. It will run you $100.
I was never successful at cleaning my EGR out and having permanently fixed the problem.
I also don't believe the aftermarket product will be any less effective than the OEM. Get the least expensive product you can get.
Two simple bolts hold it in place. Make sure to buy the gasket if the EGR brand you buy doesn't come with it.

Just for feedback on this - I fitted the valve, but couldn't get the warning message to clear. Finally after searching through forums, realized that the only reset option was to disconnect the battery. Did this, message reset, and it's been fine since. Thanks to those who provided information that helped me sort this.
