Electric passenger seat woes
Just as one small problem is cured, leaving me with an almost perfect car another niggle arises that despite being small, does not show the car off in its best light.
When I got the car the passenger seat was reclined forward as far as it would go. No amount of button pushing or bodily force would shift it. This meant any passenger would be travelling bolt upright, head against the windscreen almost.
Anyway, I fiddled with the wires under the drivers seat - literally fiddled - no technique and sprayed them with WD40 - and the seat came back to life. I was able to recline the seat and move it backwards.
Problem over.....until today
I started the car and before I had even left the garage the passenger seat inclines forward and stops. The forward backward motion still works and pressing the button on the door produces a faint electrical clicking sound from within the car as if there is still some life.
Anyone got any ideas on resetting the seat - either electrically or manually.

Hi Rob,
You might have to take the seat out to check the little micro switches on the tracks. At the same time it will allow you to check and clean the connectors with contact cleaner rather than WD40.
Make sure also that your battery is fully charged.
Hope this helps,

Have now compounded the problem, but at least found a permanent solution once fixed.
Checked the drivers side fuses and found the drivers seat power one was missing. Replaced it and drivers seat immediately reclined fully back and won't return.
Solution - once seats back in right position - remove fuse 1 left and right hand side.
Now got to get two seats back in position.

Rob, your problem may lie in the control boxes under the seats, maybe worth taking them apart and having a look for damage on the circuit boards.
Just had another look at your last post. Also look at the control switches, they may be stuck in one position which would give the problem you have.

Had similar problem and it was the relays in the control box. These are very standard types and about $2 each. I bought 10 pack and changed them. They are all soldered in and a pain to get out of the PCB but OK if you can do electronic soldering. I recall there are 2 for each function.
