Default Fabricating new Growler fog light covers....opinions

This is something I may or may not do,

But as several of us know, just a couple of years ago you could get a pair of black growler covers for your OEM Hella fog lights for 30.00. Today this is what they are going for :

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=141421622770

300.00 dollars+! Which is an abomination.

Anyway, the reason for my post is because I have several brand new identically shaped Hella fog light covers. They are , however, white and have the HELLA logo in front. I am wanting to turn these into a replica of the Jaguar covers for my personal use, and wanted to ask what you guys tought. Painting them matte black with a high quality permanent plastic paint should be simple enough as well as sanding the 3D Hella logo of , but what do you guys think I should use for the "growler" ?

Here are my options :

1-wheel badges-these could word if I can flatten them properly. I can get 4 for 10 dollars

2-small grill growler-these are a little more expensive and may be "too much"

3-decals #1 -don't really care for these too much but they are an option

4-decals #2-these look the most original. Very similar to the one in the original cover. May just be too small..

Any advise is welcome!

Mark,

Decal 1 is definitely much closer to the original logo that I have on my original Jaguar covers.

Looking forward to seeing the results as i'm interested in creating a spare set from some white Hella covers that i have also.

I wonder how much 3D printing would cost. You could add growler. If you sold some sets it might offset cost. I would take a set if not to much. If ten people want them it might be cost effective.
Just an idea.

the first one would probably only look good if you could recess it. The second would probably be fine, since the point is that is it 3d. A sticker may look cheesy.

Personally if I were set on the growler ( I think the leaper logo or the jaguar logo would look great too) I would make a stencil and paint it in flat paint.

If you have white covers, I would paint the matte/flat black and make a stencil in semi gloo white or BRG of the growler, Jaguar logo, or leaper logo. But if you are set on the white a semi gloss black stencil over the white could look good too,

Thanks guys for the replies.

I think that the stickers might indeed look cheesy.

I think I will options 1 and 2 and see what I can come up with.
