Default Facelift Convertible Top Leaking

So the OEM top is finally letting in some water. It goes directly into the housing that holds the handle, so the car is dry until I drive it and hit the brakes, then the water comes spilling in!

Anyways, I suspect its coming from a thread line that is no longer there. The tiny holes can be seen when there is sun behind it.

Any ideas for a temp solution to get me to the wintertime?

I didn’t realize an ice cold splash when going down hill wasn’t standard equipment. I get it at the end of the driveway…. Right on my pant leg. The stitching is all still there! But for the other wear holes and complete rips, I used as seen on TV flex seal tape. There is a complete rip side to side across the top cause by… well… an overweight barn cat that thinks an XJS roof makes a great hammock. It’s been taped up for two years. The top is regularly put up and down and it hasn’t peeled off yet.

Vee,

Try some canvas sealer. Fabric Guard will work. I used it on my previous original top and it worked great!!
