Default Facelift Floor Mats

I know there have been several posts just recently about replacement floor mats....I found the end all, be all solution

Graham Watkins at GB Classic Trim provided me the perfect replacement WITH OEM heelmats, a color that matches my old faded coffee (SDC) interior and CLEATS....yes, the plastic cleats (as well as Velcro) that make these the PERFECT.

Here are the pics, front and back, for a 1996 XJS, where the mats are longer than the 95.

Wow those carpets look EXACT. I wonder if the heel pad is a repro or some limited old stock? So... big question... how much?

They’ll make it to your MY size. Send in your dimensions, just in case, which is what I did.

The heelpads are allegedly old stock that they purchased.

Cost was about 120GBP plus shipping, which added about another $100USD, if I recall. (I realize I am mixing British and US currency)

The clear sewn in made it worth it to me. Velcro only does so much.

I am purchasing a wool carpet set without the heel mat. The top floor mats will have a smaller heal pad than the original with custom colored bound edges and thread stitching. I have seen people taking their floor mats to an embroidery shop and they will stitch the jaguar head on the mats. There are hood and grill badges with the jaguar head that you could pin at the bottom of the floor mat. There is also an illuminated badge you can pin into the floor mat.

Regards.

I'll post my update here on Vee's Thread versus my earlier Thread as long as the subject has returned.
I ordered a set of mats from Lloyd's Mats. I ordered what they call their Luxe mats series since I view the XJS as more of a luxury GT touring car versus a sporting car. Well, the mats arrived. I must admit, I'm quite happy with them. They mentioned that due to they heavy 48oz. cut pile they cannot directly embroider a logo on the mat. They make a separate embroidery and press fit it to the mat. But, nothing was available for Jaguar. So they were ordered plain. One option they do offer (which I included) is different color edge binding/stitching so that you can achieve a moderate to high contrast if that is desired. The edge binding is really nice. More rounded than flat. Almost like piping. These mats are heavy. The backing material is excellent. Even though the mats were shipped rolled up in a narrow box, they would lie flat immediately without any break-in time. No curling. They do have a genuine luxury look and feel to the, I've ordered two different types of tiny Jaguar badges I will attempt to install just one on each inner, rear corner of the front mats to see if I like it. LOL
The only small negative is that the packing slip shows " Jaguar XJS 95/96". So I suspect the length will be for the shorter 95. Darn. But that's what I've been using for the last 23 years anyway. LOL I haven't tried fitting them to my XJS yet as I'm waiting for the little badges to arrive so I can do it all at one time. But I'll take photos and report back once in mats are placed in. Meantime, here are some pics of the mats for front and rear. I also have a custom cut thick pair of clear vinyl mats for the fronts to go over the new mats. LOL

Alternatively, for a 96', and authenticity, Vee's mats are the way to go - before they run out of heel pads !! LOL

Rick

When i bought mats from Loyds for my 93, the ones they sent were different from my factory shape. Through much back and forth, i ended up having to send them a paper cut-out template of my factory mats. They made a set based on those and they fit very well! Only downfall is the plastic "keepers" for the twist locks they used were round and black. With my tan carpet it just looked weird. I swapped in my old ones, but they are slightly smaller than what they used. So now the mats have started sliding and the holes are stretching. I really should just swap the black ones back in
