Nope. Wrong place. This place looks promising for "custom" overlay mats:

Thanks. Most places will not, or cannot add the cleat....I think I'm desperate enough that I will just want velcro sewn in. I just sent them a followup request.

I will let you guys know how it turns out.

Apparently what I have is just the carpet, which should remain hidden under the mat....I've had two of these cars and have never seen the mat!

Rick, the mats that you have there are for the pre-face lift model. The little grommet rings are a dead giveaway. The pre-facelift models had turnbuckle attachments on the seat control module cover, which required those grommets to hold the mat in place. The facelift model came with the longer floor carpets seen in the next post, which had velcro and a plastic clip to hold it in place. Facelift did not come with mats to my knowledge but could be ordered from many aftermarket companies.

I'm not sure even the facelifts had it down pat. I understand that the 95s may have kept the shorter mats, with secondary carpeting covering the metal plate that covers the auto-seat computer, while the 96 did away with the two piece and went with one long carpet.

If Lloyd's mats will make them from a stencil you send in, that seems like a good option.

You could contact Lakewell classic car interiors and see if they will make up a set of mats rather than a full carpet set:
Interior carpet set Jaguar XJS Cabriolet 1988-1996 | XJS | Jaguar | Lakewell

Or this may be a shot in the dark, but have you tried contacting Jaguar Land Rover classic parts with your part number and trim code and ask if they have a set? I purchased a NOS driver's side floor mat for a 94 XJ12 from them last year and they had some other NOS parts like a center armrest w/cupholder. They may have sold all their XJS stuff a while ago, but it's worth an email or call to them.

Benj628: Thanks so much for your post. I had no idea. Hmmmm I'm the second owner, purchased in 2000 as a Jag "Certified" vehicle. So it would appear that my mats were ADDED either by the first owner or the Jag Dealer with either Factory/Aftermarket mats - in pre-facelift style. Oh well. That's the nice thing about this Forum. I learn so much. Anyway, I think they look good. Especially with that custom piping around the edge.
Here is a new, custom cut set of clear vinyl mats (semi-hard with spikes) that I will try out to go over the floor mats to keep them perfect. LOL They sure do grip the carpet. I've always used a pair of generic clear mats that I cut to fit as an overlay to keep the mats perfect. Of course the dirt, etc. wipes right off the clear ones. But the one problem has always been that the clear would always eventually turn yellow where your feet position. Especially the drier's side that is used most. I've heard that this yellow is caused by a chemical reaction from the bottom of your shoes in contact with the black asphalt from streets and driveways. Probably so. I hope these new, semi-stiff mats won't turn yellow. We'll see. I've never found anything to get that yellow out.

Just wanted to see if anyone did get new mats? Also my 93 facelift still has the turnbuckles for the mats. My downfall is that the holes around the buckle assembly are worn out so they still end up moving around

I'm about to place an order. Just trying to decide between World of Upholstery versus GB Classic Trim. They both have a color that matches my interior well.

For World, I have to use their nylon material. GB doesn't really specify what they use, and I'm trying to make sure I don't have to pay VAT and confirm shipping from the UK.

Do you know if they'll have the turnbuckle gromets installed, or will you have to add them?

The 96 doesn't use turnbuckle grommets, but I would be shocked if they did not do that. Grommets are easy.

My mats use velcro and cleats. The cleats are impossible to find anyone who can source them. If I can find them, I'll be able to find someone to sew them in, but right now, I'm happy with the sewn in velcro.

I'll keep you posted on what I finally decided and why.

I ordered their recommended XJS mats the first time around and they ones they sent me were obviously for the pre-facelift cars with grommet holes for the mat anchors and a shorter driver's side mat, whereas the facelifts don't have mat anchors and have a longer driver's mat. I ordered blue ones just for fun but found I never used them but maybe 2-3 times.
I have both sets of mats if you would like to see them or purchase one of them from me, however they are custom and are dark blue with silver edge binding.

I decided to stick with the tan+blue Jaguar mats the car came with since they are original. I used my original mats to make the pattern for the custom ones if you would like to see them or have me make you a pattern for them that you can send to Lloyd for your own mats to be made.
My '93 facelift came with floor turnbuckles and my mats attached to them and hold the mats to the floor..

Instead of the cleat, you could custom fit these original turnbuckles in the right places as the mounting holes for them in the seat module cover are there. This would hold it in place securely instead of the cleat, and of course you'd have the Velcro at the edge as it already does. Here are some new Jag turnbuckles should you want to do this.

Interesting discussion!

My car (6 cil coupe, aug 1994, big bumpers) probably has had a problem in the past, maybe it got water on the floor or something like that because all horizontal carpet pieces have been replaced by a Previous Owner. However he used a completely wrong type of carpet without backing so very unsuitable for being on the floor of a car. This means I cannot use them as measurements for replacements as the fitting is rubbish as well. In the passenger footwell there is a carpeted bulge on the sill side - presumably covering an ECU.
Both metal boxes in front of the seats are loose on the floor - not screwed down. On the forward edge of them are turnbuckles. In front of the boxes are foam underlines (marked LH and RH), I believe these to be original Jaguar pieces.

I have a couple of questions.
1. What is the length of the front footwell floor mat, to be fixed with turnbuckles?
2. What is the length of the piece of carpet, coming from under the seat, covering the metal floor boxes and (I think) slid under the main footwell carpet?
3. If an overmat is used on top of the original carpet, would this be reaching all the way to the seat (so, also covering the metal box)? What would be the length of that?

A carpet floor mat supplier ask for these dimensions because he says there are many differences between the years.

That's a lot of uncertainty to be addressed. My best advice is to find another one to examine in person, perhaps at a car show or find someone local on the forums. The seat modules covers should have carpet on the metal covers up until the 1995-96 models for which they were bare metal and covered by a longer revised floor carpet.
