Replace all fluids, belts hoses especially the short hoses that conect each fuel injector to the fuel rail. Otherwise a fuel injector hose WILL SPLIT and your new XJS WILL BURN UP!

drop that tank, clean that baby, and send your injectors off to AJ6 or someplace to have them micropulse cleaned.

Check the tyres aren't perished. Even if there is tread, they could be aged-out and subject to sudden failure.

What a lovely car. bullet proof engine too just check the headlining that likes to separate from the roof. I had a friend that had one of these and it just kept going. Never broke down and started every time. A truly magnificent car with looks to kill!

Good advice, Tyres have a date code as follows

Tyres manufactured before 2000 the last 3 digits of the tyre ID number indicate the week and year of manufacture for example a code of
DOT EJ8J DFM 509 is the 50th week of 9th decade now this could be 1989 or 1999 there is usually a triangle to identify the 1990's

Tyres manufactured after 2000 are easier with 4 digits DOT EJ8J DFM 5009
so this would be 50th week of 2009.

I would also check wheel bearings these are usually forgotten especially the rears as they are not as easy to replace as the fronts. give the brakes a good look replace the fluid and check all pistons are free and not rusted.
