Found a nice V12 XJS conv for sale for $400, need info
It varies state to state. I bought one that the owner had lost the title and I had to get a notierized bill of sale, a sworn statement from a police officer that the vin wasn't reported stolen and the last registration of the vehicle to take into the DMV. Then it was just like titleing any other car.

So when I pay for the car, meet the son at a notary and pay to have it notorized? How did you get the police officer to issue a sworn statement?
The state of Indiana (my home of record) has a form for download on their website for vin verification. Other states may have something similiar or you could always download that one and use it for a template to make your own.
I would still check with your state to see what documentation they require.

Finally picked it up today for $350. Its a little more beat up then I remembered, but the guy said it ran about 6 months ago (who knows how accurate that is though). A little bit of rust on the floor boards, some wiring issues, some missing pieces, but we shall see. Wednesday I am going to take everything apart and see what I am really working with here. Pictures tomorrow
well ive got a friend that runs jag sport international, and has built some really hot 12's. But its expensive and there are easier cheaper ways to power nowadays. But yes if you want to, you sure can do it
Lots of people like the V12s...including me ! Great motor, very interesting....just don't let it run hot.
Cheers

It's kind of like a relationship...great when it's good, horrible when it's not. I've spent more in maintenance on my '91 than I would have ever believed. I've started to do my own work. It's really intimidating for a non-mechanic to take on, but so it goes. You just have to love the car to go through what it takes. I'm mid-project on the hearer core now. Slow going and hoping for info I don't have. Have fun, good luck.
