Default Front X brace bushing?

I'm preparing to tear into my front end work again on Monday. I remember when I removed the front X brace (1996 XJS convertible with 4.0L AJ16 engine), I noticed there was a rubber bushing that was nearly torn. It was on the front driver side x-brace bolt, inside a metal washer/carrier. It may not be important and it's still intact, just pretty badly weathered.

I figure this is a noise reducing bushing that prevents any metal on metal noise. I'm trying to source the bushing but can't really find any reference anywhere to the X brace itself. It is never mentioned in my Service manual, nor on jaguarclassicparts or anywhere else that I'm aware of.

If anyone either knows what the X brace is technically called (strut support? bodyshell brace? cross member?) and where I can source 2 of the flat, round rubber bushings, I'd like to hear from you!

davemack,

I presume you mean the front underfloor horizontal X-brace rather than the front vertical X-brace? If so, you can find it on Jaguar's website here:

Cheers
