Default Gas Gage

My gas gage was buried over full, which made me suspicous that it was bad, going up hill outside of town and my jag dying confirmed my suspicion. I was told it might possibly be my fuel pump I need to replace. What do you guys have to say? 88 Jaguar XJS Hess & Eisnehardt.

Had a similar problem on my '94. Don't think '88's had the same fix though - replacing or bypassing the anti-slosh module. I've read that the H & E's had a pretty funky fuel tank, maybe something to do with that. Don't know how a fuel pump would cause it but then again I'm not up on the Jag funkiness in '88 just for my year.
