Aren't you in Illinois? I'm up near Chicago and just pulled a perfectly functioning TH400 out of my 1989 XJS. 50K miles and no noise. If you need a transmission you can have it for free.

As you can tell the automatic is a GM Turbo 400 which is about as tough an automatic as you will ever find. Trucks ambulances big heavy cars all use it. Used by drag racers because it’s so tough. change fluid every 60,000 miles and it will last longer than you. Well except the case is unique to Jaguars. Either swap another Jaguar transmission in or have yours rebuilt it’s not expensive. Don’t be fooled.
