Thank you for the information. How would you go about cleaning and testing the heating and cooling system? I have noticed a large spring loaded flap on the driver's and passenger's side that I think open for fresh air?? I don't know what activates them and why. While driving at different speeds I hear a loud slamming noise at the left side footwell. The driver's side vent door is very close to the hood latch cable connection to the hood release handle. I think it is the driver's side air vent is opening or closing and possibly catching on the hood release cable.

Best regards,

Greg,
Do you know where I can get a drawing showing the routing and part numbers of the HVAC system? I have all of the dashboard and footwells open and would like to repair the missing tubing and any other possible parts. I have noticed the tubing has come apart, removed just dead ends. I also have a very loud slamming noise on the left side in the foot well. I think it is the opening with a spring loaded flap. What is the flap for, does it let fresh air in. It should not make a loud slamming noise. Do you know how it is controlled?

Best regards,
Patrick

Patrick,

All the part numbers, and therefore, to some degree, the diagrammatic layout, are on the Jaguar parts website. So you shouldn't have any problem identifying part numbers.

Cheers

Paul

Patrick, I think on your car you have the Delanair mark III system. If you can pull out the LHS temp knob to get full cold, then you do. I have no experience of the Matrk III, I am afraid, but others here do and I am sure will chime in.
The slamming noise probably is coming from the blower flap system.
