Great post. This forum has been invaluable. Not being that mechanical, it's been a lifesaver. Frankly, I don't think I'd even own my two Jags if I didn't have this forum. I don't even know how many times the amazing people on here have helped me. Without them, I'd be too frustrated and too broke to own the cars, which I love.
I always try using the search feature before putting a question out there. I don't want to waste anyone's time if my issue has already been discussed. I realize any problems I may have have almost certainly been discussed but finding a post about it isn't always easy. And every time I post something, even if it's an old subject on here, I always get the help I need. So thank you to all. I am so appreciative.

The expertise on this and similar forums is phenomenal in addition to the fantastic individuals who have been there, done that and are willing to share their wealth of experience to the rest of us. Keeping us from having to reinvent the wheel on even the smallest of difficulties. Although it still takes me reading help posts over and over to understand, it has made me become more thoroughly knowledgeable and willing to tackle what are normally very difficult repairs. Were it not for these forums, I could not afford the opportunity to own and drive these fabulous vehicles.

$160 is base here too. Sure a test drive and consult for $160 seems high. Consider you were at a dealership in his fancy building with all those cars sitting around drawing monthly interest and taxes on building let alone the cost of salesmen, mechanics, counter people, custodians, insurance, utilities and the free coffee. If the new milleniums did not need fancy and we could go back to the 70s, hourly rates were still high considering the $35 hr back then. Just something we have to live with, and the reason that owning our dream cars causes us to do the work. I have people ask me to do work, as I am certified and have been working on Jags for 50+ yrs, and I say that will be $75 hr. and I get the crossed-eyed look. Sure, bring me an old Jag, come around and help me once in a while, I'll fix it for parts. But, some people, I will not touch there car, period.

I too have been very appreciative to all of the help I've gotten on this forum
and others like the grand daddy of the Jag Forums - Jag Lovers - is another of my
favorite go to sites for info on the 1994 XJS. I'm glad the wisdom that the people
that got the factory training or through "been there, done that" efforts is being
recorded for future enthusiasts.
