Default Hagerty or Grundy: Change Between Full Coverage and Storage Insurance Online?

Hi,

Every fall when I put some of my Jags into storage and every spring when I take them out of storage my current insurer makes me call them to switch between full coverage insurance and comprehensive only insurance. Their website does not support the concept of winter storage.

Does anyone use Hagerty or Grundy and know for sure whether either insurance company allows me to make those changes online? This would also be convenient if I want to switch cars in the summer. I don't need full coverage insurance on all five cars all year long.

Thanks,

Andy

I just called them for my car to see if I could insure just for spring and summer and they said no... that their prices were reflective of limited use of the car for the year.

Hagerty are already a fantastic deal as far as I'm concerned, reflecting limited use of the car. I don't think it's reasonable to expect to save much more because you're not using the car for a period.

However, if you're not with them already, I would suggest getting a quote.

Don't most folks pay quarterly? if so you will most likely have paid ahead of the insured time frame so you would have to know ahead of the next bill payment or way ahead of when the bill gets mailed to you if you were going to make a change. I had a friend insure his car on an agreed value plan for peanuts. No inspection required and no limitation on mileage either. Free towing (limited radius but far better than some) on the insured car as well as your other cars are insured by somebody.

I checked Hagerty and their price for full coverage for the whole year is less than comprehensive only with my existing insurance. :-)
