Default Has anyone in the Chicago area checked out this 1976 XJS?

This 1976 XJ-S has been on the market for a very long time now. Just looking at the data and the VIN number, it looks like a reasonable price. But I assume something must be wrong with it. New Webers and a manual transmission alone cost that much.

That one is right down the street from me. I saw it advertised when I was in the market for my XJS but I didn't even bother going to look at it. I have a policy of never buying anyone's project car.

I am talking myself out of looking at this car. :-) According to the owner it needs a few more weekends of work, but runs and drives. The low VIN number makes this likely a 1975 XJ-S.
