Lightbulb Headlight/fog light issue

Here are the symptoms:

low beam headlights are very dim (much more than the usual weak light) but both illuminate.
fog lamps do not work at all
fog lamp switch will not illuminate when pressed
high beams work fine

Any assistance with a diagnosis sequence is greatly appreciated. I checked all system fuses and they are all OK,

Thank you very much.

Dave

Are the headlamps the same brightness wether or not the engine is running?

Also the the headlamps must be on dipped (main) beam for the fog lights to work.

Cheers,

Allan

I suspect you have more than one problem. What year is your car? The later models had a small pilot light in the headlight assembly. If your main lights are burnt out, you will only see the smal light.

As far as the fog lights, check the fuse and the relay. The relay is under the hood and the terminals do get dirty.
