Hello, about to dive in!
Thanks again, folks.
Took her up to the British Automotive shop nearby (and parked her next to a stunning E-Type and across from a Mk VII; think these guys might know old Jags) for general go over and compression check.
Compression check is good (yay!), and of course they found a list of things. Most of them I expected, the only surprise was a transmission seal leak, which I just couldn't really get to to have seen when I bought. Since they have it there, and had to do the compression check, I had them go ahead and change spark plugs (which turns out was required since some were so corroded they fell apart after being taken out for the compression check) and do an oil change (since I don't have a tub big enough for all that oil). Going to go up Monday and go over the list and figure out what I will have them do and what I will do.

Going to have them do transmission service (since I don't have a lift or space to deal with that at the moment), and biting the bullet and having them do valve cover gaskets, which is damn pricy. Of course, they want to do more of the work, but I am not a complete sucker. Just mostly.
So after they do that, I'll be diving in to do plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor, fuel filter, air filters, and alternator. Seems like the alternator is a bit of a bear, but gotta earn my stripes, right?
