Default help in parts identification

I'm in the process of removing the airboxes and putting different air filters outside the engine compartment. I see there are three attachments going to the right side airbox. One photo shows a hose just aft of the air intake. The other photo shows a hose and, just to the right of the hose, a metal connection, both of which attach to the airbox (as well as the temp sensor, hanging off to the left).

Since I've removed the air pump, are any of these attachments something I can just block, or do they all need access to intake air?

I do plan to reattach the temp sensor into the intake air line.

Thanks!

John
