At full chat, 40/53ths of the HE V12 5.3 = 75%. So if the v12 needs 180 lph the 4 litre needs 135 lph. The flow is needed so that the required rail pressure can be maintained at WOT when the thing is doing about 5 mpg. On my car, I have had the computer instant readout as low as 4 mpg on full throttle from rest acceleration!
For all the mpg figures claimed on modern large capacity engines, if you start really using their performance, the mpg figures are hardly, if any better than on the V12 or the 4 litre.

Foot down hard, from cold, up a really severe hill in North Devon, my AJ16 trip computer would drop to 1 mpg!
