Default I want 13" brakes where to start?

I know i don't necessarily need brakes this big, but i want them, to fill the whole wheel and give the car the aggressive look, so i was thinking:

wilwood drilled and slotted rotors

6 Piston calipers

and most likely custom brackets

Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't upset the balance of the braking system. Upgrading the front brakes only may make the car feel like it stops faster, but you're stopping distances will likely increase if you only upgrade the fronts. You really should increase the fronts and rears in proportion. Using a more aggressive pad material in the rear may help offset the gains in the front (a method typically used on race cars) but it just depends on the setup.

For purely aesthetic reasons, 6 piston Wilwood calipers would be nice! Whatever you do, see if you can get a caliper with dust boots around the piston. Also, make sure you have both the height/diameter AND depth inside the new wheels to accommodate the larger caliper.

If you're interested in the rear brake upgrade, you can upgrade to vented rear discs for about $400. They would certainly handle a more aggressive pad material with more grace. The catch is, you have to install new rear rotors, which is a pain unless you're dropping the IRS anyway. Pics and info on my website here:

Calvin, Have you done the brake change to Corvette Brakes? I have thought about this same swap many times after putting a set of Corvette brakes on my old gm g-body.

cal i have installed many types and makes of cylinder sleeves,(never Rob Beere tho), in the past 50yrs.

my personal favorite today are the DARTON type.

but be aware that it really is up to the machinist and his abilities, plus experience level.

i dont think anyone on this site who has installed R/B liners, especially 96 bore pieces!

but i'm sure that XJR5006 has or knows much about it!

OOPS wrong thread, i thought it was the sleeve thread!!??

if you really want to stop ,a local Mustang guy has 15" front rotors, and 13" rears, 6 piston calips.
