Default Importing an XJS from Canada to US

Anybody had any recent experience with this, or any older car?

Yes, saw the rules, but was just wanting to hear from somebody who's actually done it. Looking at a 96 XJS, so it doesn't fit under the 25 yr old banner, so my basic concern is if this car is exactly the same as a US version aside from a kph speedo

I'll let someone else verify as it applies to the XJS, but in 1996 the US went OBDII mandate, so if the car is not OBDII compliant, it's far from just a speedo switch. There were many 95.5 models of other makes to delay this switch as far as possible (Audi being one).

I've imported cars under the 25 yr rule and it too is not black and white.

My suggestion, find a 96 in the states, UNLESS they are in fact nut for bolt, wire for wire identical and OBDII setup.

Jeff
