Default Injector hose brain fade.....

I can't remember the lengths for the 5.3 injector hoses.

2.5" for the two front injectors and 1.75" for the other ten? Is that right?

As many as I've replaced you'd think I'd remember. And I threw away all the old ones so I can't use them as samples.

Gah, what a dumbass!

Cheers and thanks

Just measured on my car, where the injectors were cleaned by a specialist in the UK some years ago and he fitted new flexibles: Straight ones 2 inches, front two 4 inches.

Dimensions NOT critical AFICS, as long as they are not too tall so the hood is fouled. . eg 1.75 inches would be just as good, and the front ones seem just a matter of getting not too flat or too tight a curve. eg 3.75 inches would do, or even 4.25.

Gentlemen...if I may??

After a two year search, I have finally traced my gas smell to leaking injector hose connections. I have never taken the fuel rail off and not sure if I should attempt myself (I'm pretty handy and usually not afraid to try lol) or let my local mechanic rape me??

Removing the fuel rail looks somewhat straightforward, albeit a lot of connections, wires, etc.

Is this hose a "press fit"?? Do I need a special tool (my service manual is somewhat vague on the topic, as usual). Do you have any sage advice you may want to share??

Thank you for your time.

Yes, press fit. Just push the new hose onto the barbed nipples.

The old hose is carefully cut away from the nipples....hopefully with minimal scarring and nicking of the nipples. PITA, sorta

You'll want new "ferrules"...

In addition to the injector hoses also consider replacing the supply and return hoses as well. Same principle is used.....cut away the old, push on the new.
