Default ISO: Crank shaft pulley

My late-1995 XJS 4.0 XJS needs a new crank shaft pulley and we’re having trouble locating one. Apparently my model was manufactured late in 1995 so it uses a one-piece pulley unlike all other previous year models. 1996 models used a one-piece pulley, as well.

Anyone looking to part with theirs or have any leads? Thank you!

twojags1992,

All the AJ16-engined XJSs use the same damper and pulley assembly. So any 4 litre XJS built after April 1994 with VIN 194775 or higher are suitable. Part number EBC10059. There seem to be a few on US ebay.

Good luck

Paul

Thank you, Paul. My shop seems to think that pulleys from earlier models are built in two pieces while mine is one single unit with four belts. Does that sounds right?

There us a difference in the earlier 4 litre cars with AJ6 engines used up until Apr 94. I'm led to believe that AJ6 cars can use the later ones if they change the timing gear

If yours is a two piece with rubber between, there are places that will rebuild your old one.
