Jaguar World Magazine Rust proof article
A while ago Jaguar World magazine had an article on rust proofing the XJS in the workshop section. I don't remember which issue it was in, and rather than spending hours trying to find it, I wondered if anyone knew right away which issue it was in. Please!

As far as rustproofing is concerned, I can tell you for certain that waxing on its own will not do it.
I have found that layers work well: First a top quality rustkiller (AquaSteel is the best I have found, no doubt there are others); then a specialised anti-rust paint (zinc chromate or its modern equivalent is best); then wax. So far this has worked really well for me.

Rust-proofing implies you havn't rusted out your car yet, if you have problem areas or want to quickly seal in the underside etc I strongly suggest looking at Corroseal I just restored/renewed the underside of my truck, and salvaged a 70s BMW coupe with this stuff its miracle in a bottle. Marine/Industrial grade turns rust into a hardened black enamel like surface.
I discovered that in January 2017 Jaguar World had an article about rust proofing an XK8. I think I was confused in my memory and when I saw it originally must have thought the same thing could be done to an XJS.
