Can anyone please tell what the symptoms are when your JAGUAR xjs FUEL INJECTION COMPUTER ECU ECM 1991 goes bad? thanks

 

Well my right bank smokes and smells like gas I am going to replace it and see if this solves my boggle... Ill let you all know the outcome...

 

That is a common sign for a failed ECU. I don't know why, but one back will just give up the ghost.

 

Thank you for the follow up. I think first before I spend the two hundred bucks I will check the coils. I am going to switch the coils from left to right to see if it causes the problem on the other side. I am also going to check the rotor and distributor cap. I have heard that this is a possibility also of the Marnelli ignition system to do this very naughty thing...and close to Christmas too! If my XJS wasn't such a cute boy I would put him out in the cold with out any Christmas supper but ah I cannot do that... Thanks for the feedback!
