jaguar xjs - horn works sometimes
I have a Jaguar xjs 1995
The horn works sometimes....I hear that they sometimes suffer from a break in the wiring within the steering column. Is this true and if yes, how can it be tested please?
Thanks very much

Welcome to the forum JL,
I've moved your question from General Tech Help section to XJS section. You need advice from members with the same model on this issue.
When you get a minute, please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST section and post some info about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice on posting to the forum.

First thing I would do is to check the horn relay. It always seems to come down to the darn relays...
The horn relay is the middle blue Hella relay in the right front component panel under the hood. This panel is covered with a piece of plastic held on by a couple of plastic blots. Swap the relay with one you know works (ie A/C Clutch Relay, which is the next door neighbor of the horn relay, closer to the front of the car) and see if your problem is fixed. If so, replace the relay and you're good as new.
Best,
