keyway

Default keyway

just fitting a serpentine type engine damper and found a baggy crank keyway slot, bit of araldite is could for or any other suggestions please

Yours will use the cone arrangement which will hold damper solid so long as the crank bolt is properly torqued. The key does very little apart from location if the bolt and cone are locked up correctly.
The fact the keyway is flogged out a little might indicate the bolt was not as tight as it should be.

your right, the weight of the breaker alone nearly undid the bolt and the pulley, cone and all just pulled off, so providing the correct torque is used on refitting. do you think I can get away with it I have new woodruffs coming tomorrow,

Agreed.

The keys do get a little "hammering" with the "on/off" of the A/C compressor. Properly torqued and that "hammering" is extremely slight.

However, that small amount of wear will have the key to cone relationship not perfect.

I would get some JB Weld, Devcon, or similar stuff in your market, to try and redress that groove somewhat. Araldite would be too weak/soft in my opinion.

The NEW keys will make a HUGE difference, and may well be sufficient.

got the j b weld from amazon and 10 keys (min buy) from jaguar today
so if any one wants a couple of woodruff keys for cost give me a shout
