Default Kick Down

Hello, I need some advice on the kick-down, T/H 400. I went out and performed an "Italian" tune up (manually dropping down) and after doing so the "kick down" wouldn't..you guessed it, kick down. Mine is set at the 3/4 throttle position by flipping the upper switch and using the throttle rods, it's worked fine like this for years. When I got home and went under the car the plug was dangling away from the trans so I re-plugged it in and off I went...again, no kick down. Went home and switched out the upper switch with a new one and checked for 12 volts at the trans plug and there was 12v when the upper switch was made but I didn't here a click when plugged in and switch made. I dropped the exhaust today and prepared with new switch in hand to pull the pan BUT when I pulled the plug on the kick down I noticed it was not plugged onto the spade but between the spade and the plastic cap (which should have still made contact) I pressed down the spades w/pliers and pushed it on properly and now I hear a "click when the switch is made.....my question I guess is could I still need to replace the kick down solenoid even it it "clicks"? I don't look forward to pulling the rear bracket and pan for no reason yet pulling the exhaust and getting the car up on all fours was no easy task either. Hate to put it together and drop it only to find out it's still not kicking down but then again I hate to do all that work for no eason either (trans fluid and filter changed 4 years ago by PO).

My opinion from waaaaay down here.

"If it quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, its probably a duck".

You got a click, that is more than you had before, so I would toss a coin. I would drop the car and drive it, I think your initial wire OFF was an issue, and the replacement down the side of the terminal also lost contact, so now its 100% intact you should be fine.

Well, buttoned it up, dropped it down and problem still exists. I'll wait for cooler weather to get it back up and tackle the pan....funny if it weren't for that rear mount bracket I would have just quickly dropped the pan and been done with it......why does even the simplest of tasks have to be difficult on these cars?

BUGGA.

Take the bracket off, I did on all mine many, many years ago.

Pan removal is less than 10 minutes once raised sufficiently for my fat gut to under it.
