Default Knee bolster repair clip

Here are some pics of a repair clip I made for the knee bolster. It requires you drill (and debur) a 3mm hole once positioned. It uses 3mm nut and a 3x6mm machine screw to hole it in place. I used a countersunk screw, but It needed to be around 7mm long(which required some grinding), so I changed the final design and went with a 6mm pan head screw. Before placing it in place I recommend you get upside down and observe how it going into place. I had to rebend one of my brackets( the vehicle mounted bracket) as it had bent slightly upward after being abused over the years. I haven't put too much time on it yet, but it seems to be holding nicely. Here is a link to the 3d file https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7170014

Those are nice , now you should make a latch or release, to open for a small glove box or phone storage, or a place to keep paperwork. There is some space behind the bolster.

Yeah I don't think the juice would be worth the squeeze...there is really very little room there....and its a little precarious to install these as it is now, but I guess it could be done- but too many other projects to deal with right now.

I keep my Class D amplifier in there. The AC system has to be kept on manual since the heat from that amp changes what the system believes is the ambient air temperature.

That repair is very close to how I made mine.
Except I pop-riveted the original metal clip.
