Lights Have a Mind of Their Own
This is a 2 part post:
#1 - Has anyone swapped out their panel switch bulbs for LED bulbs? I'm looking for the correct LED bulb number or correct conversion for the OEM bulb #JLM9593.
#2 - Just picked up a set of rear interior courtesy lamp assemblies since the electrical components that hold the bulb together were broken. Plugged in the new assemblies, popped the lamps in place and gave myself a pat on the back.
Then it began acting funny. First, the lamps would only turn on if I turned them slightly up or slightly down. Second, when they do turn on...they won't turn off unless i select one of the panel switches (which then turns on the passenger map light)....map light on/courtesy lights off. When I press the panel switch a second time the map light turns off and the courtesy lights turn on and stay on. The other panel switch turn it turns all on the interior lights.
I was hoping that the courtesy lights would turn off after a minute when all the doors were closed, but no luck. I ended up turning the lamps slightly upwards so they wouldn't stay on and drain my battery.
Ant ideas on how I could trouble shoot this?
