Default A little sneak preview of my transmission swap...

This came today. This is just the shifter. I'll put a longer post up with the rest of the build outlined in it once it's done.

Rachet shilfer for a 4L60/700R4. Used in drag racing often with a reverse shift pattern.

This one is called a Lightning Rod shifter from a company called Kilduff Machine. It's very similar to an option that used to be factory-orderable from Oldsmobile on, I believe, the 442.

Here's the shop's website: custom automatic ratchet shifters

They make several shifters (including the old-type single ratchet) but this one allows you to both upshift AND downshift, sequentially, without a clutch. Or you can just pull it into "D" and the car will run like it has a regular automatic transmission in it.

Here are a couple of videos about how they work. Modern Pontiac GTO:

Also a video from a '68 Camaro showing you how easy it is to upshift/downshift:

Looks like a 747 throttle control.... driving home from the pub could be an issue when they all look the same..!
Just push them all forward and pray!
