Mechanical fan blade: V12

Mechanical fan blade: V12
A mate of mine has an HE coupe and his mechanical fan blade was cracked and therefore unreliable.
He wanted to keep the car as original as possible, so asked if I knew where he could get a new fan blade from. There are aftermarket replacements available in the UK, but they are of a far lower quality than OEM. On ebay the following came up: XJS, LIMMO, XJ6 Series 3, Jaguar OE Viscous Fan New Old Stock EBC4553 from a supplier of OEM parts that were obtained in bulk from Jaguar when production ended. XJS, LIMMO, XJ6 Series 3, Jaguar OE Viscous Fan New Old Stock EBC4553 | eBay
The blade has a larger diameter than the XJS one, so the shroud was removed and the blade fitted, but was too distant from the radiator for efficient airflow. My mate got a 20mm spacer made and we fitted it, so the fan blade and viscous unit were moved closer to the rad. The OE electric fan was replaced by an aftermarket electric mounted directly to the rad fins. The setup was tested recently: no radiator foams, no shroud. I can report that the cooling was superb, absolutely no worries at all, needle well below the N at all times.
So if anyone does not want to go the electric fan route, this is a very viable alternative.
