Default Melting computer light

I have replaced all of the bulbs in my trip computer, however the bulb in position B2, which illuminates the buttons on the left side of the computer melts as soon as it is turned on. The rest of the computer and its lights works fine.

I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thx

This is what I would do.

Replace the melted bulb, but this time, slice off the circuit to that light, so that it is no longer being fed from where it's supposed to.

Instead, solder jumper wires from the other light bulb (B1?) over to the B2 side.

Should work...

That's a great idea Vee. Any chance that would overload the circuit feeding B1?

I seriously doubt the two lights are circuited separately. It should have no adverse effects.

Thanks to everyone for the wisdom.

My bulbs finally arrived and I had warm enough weather to tinker. Trip computer is now fully illuminated and looks fantastic.
