Default motor switched

Well several months ago I wrote about the motor going out tried to sell it off but there was no takers. So I had another parts car with a good motor I pulled out the bad one and put in the good one and rebuilt the tranny while it was out. This project is complete now and she runs really good now. If your are thinking of pulling the motor or trans it is rather straight forward and really not too bad of a thing to do. if I can be of any help please just ask for info. By the way the bad car was an 88 the parts car was an 86 some small stuff had to be swapped but nothing bad.

Yes mad one error when I put the trans and motor together the torque convertor has slots that line up with pump tabs I missed those and ruined a trans pump for it but hey I needed practice anyway

So you didn't pull it as a unit? Or do you just mean after you got it out, you took it apart to rebuild it?

My front seal leaks on my trans and I've always assumed the trans would be a huge pain to unbolt

Ayep. Bought it with no motor (V12 engine fire). Bought another one headed to the crusher with the V12 (on left in pic), but am likely to lump the black one (91). Meanwhile, a 94 AJ6 to daily drive in the garage.

That's why I'm asking about lessons learned - got a lot to do.

no not to bad pulling a trans I can do it about hour and half .but I had mated the old trans to the donor motor while it was out I pulled them as a unit but when I screwed up the pump I just pulled the just the trans. But I also have a full shop of tool and a lift so what I think is easy could be a problem to do on ramps
