Moving seats back?

Hi Ralph,

You could try moving the rear height adjustment down. I did this on the '90 and '96 XJ6s I had. This has the effect of moving the seat back as well. I've had to move the seat height front all the way down and then moved the back position down to where I could sit comfortably.

Huh? Height adjustment? Do you mean the tilt of the seat back?


My '93 is fine. But I have this problem in my '90 -- feel cramped by the steering wheel.

Jag Po',

I'm assuming that the XJS has front and rear seat height adjusters. If they do, then try to lower the rear seat adjuster. When you do this, it also moves the seat back somewhat. You can also move the seat back as well to get more room.
