Default My rare XJ-S 3.6 coupe

My 1984 has an ECU problem. Starts but then stops and will not continue to run. Reached out to UK to a shop that does rebuilt early 1980s ECUs but he is out for a medical situation and not be available for several months.
Does anyone know of a tech or shop in the USA that would fixed the ECUs? Mine is rare, in 1984 I believe there were only 23-24 Federalized XJ-S 3.6 with the 5spd.

I don't know any one that could do what you asked but if I knew more about what you own up there, I might be interested in purchasing it. Color? Interior color and condition? condition? Mileage? Interested? I was raised in Bloomfield Township a lot of years ago.

Thank you.

Hi there,
last year I had some trouble with the ECU too in my xk8.
In my searching I found one or two ECU rebuilder in the USA (I guess in this forum, but was to far and complicate for me) and two in GB - where I sent it to the both just to know that my local dealer doesn't discovered that the matter were three fuses blowns. ASAP I will look for it for you

Well, that's me again. So, based on my (bad) experience I'd invite you to check cable, faulty connections and grounds (if you did not that).

However, it follows some dudes I hope could help you and your kitty-cat:

GoECM.com in Grand Prairie, Texas

https://www.autoecu.com/ in Tennessee

Ecu Repair Inc in Oakland Park, FL - (954) 652-1496:
https://www.ecudoctors.com/

Furthermore, last but not least, it seems your ECU could be interchangeble with X300 ones, swapping the eprom ;-)

Let us know

Hello:
I'm sure the shop you say in UK is AJ6engineering.

Other option is KWE Cars, in UK too. And there's a man called Andy Stoddard, who also does those jobs, but I don't really know how to contact him. I think he is a member of this forum too.

Try reaching out to Dean Cusano of Motorcars International in CT. He has a couple of the cars and one is a very successful slalom racer. Closer to here a patron of the Foundation has one also and many spares but I know no ECU. This car actually was purchased by Diane Black (former JLR Federal Compliance officer) and has a storied history. As we understand it all of the cars (25 per records) had slightly different cams and possibly ECUs. They were simply test mules and were to be returned to the UK or scrapped. Luckily they were offered to employees. They were very quick and their death was they would have killed V12 sales.

First make sure all your intake hose is attached properly. I recently had the intake boot loose and it appeared to be on, it was doing the same thing.
