Default Need a CD Disc player and wiring for a 1995 xjs

Does anyone have or know where I can buy a cd disc player and cable for a 1995 xjs convertible? The cords were cut and the disc player was removed.

Mary,

The original equipment on 1995 cars (in the UK at least) was a Jaguar-badged Alpine unit. Period Alpine ((& even Jaguar ones) are usually around relatively cheaply on ebay as everyone seems to want more contemporary items wired into the headunit such as Bluetooth adapters to connect phone media etc.

Good luck

Paul

Thank you Paul. I am having a hard time finding a unit with the cable connection. I have a beautiful one owner 1995 convertible with 10,000 miles on it. I will keep trying, I want to keep the original radio cassette---but the cable was cut and the cd removed.

I have a number of the cables left over from my 94 project.
Can you take pics of the plugs and text me them so I can compare?
Please text to 650-455-1110.
I can't get pics on this computer for some reason.

I have found in my experience of car stereos of my age that depending on where the wires have been cut, all that is needed is to unclip the connectors.
As EquipRX has suggested, take some pics of what is left and hopefully they have been cut before the connector in which case it is just a matter of unplugging the old ones and fitting new ones.
I recently bought a Sony Mini Disc player that came with the lead needed to connect to the ORIGINAL leads that are in the jag, you unplug two and they fit into one Sony lead, seriously easy peasy.

Ebay and Amazon sell the connectors, they are not expensive and you do not need to buy a genuine Sony one

Hope this all helps, here is an example, some may differ slightly.
