Need help: broken hood latch

so I was just blessed with a 1995 XJS, and I went to pop the hood today, and he passenger side hood latch in the corner of the hood is stuck and won’t open. I’ve looked online but everyone’s just opening front end opening hoods and just opening the latch through the grill, and I can’t do that because the latch is at the back of the engine bay and unreachable. Any help on how to fix this other than the dealership? Because I’m not Trynna pay a grand just to open the hood lol
