Default Next XJ-S in a movie...

Hey guys,

just to inform you, a great film is currently running with an XJ-S VERY often seen in the beginning scenes...

Atomic Blonde, a really good film set in autumn of 1989.

The first scenes include a road scene with the main actress walking past an XJ-S (arctic blue, quad headlights, coupé - basically exactly how mine will look )... Weirdly, she walks on time in front of it, then you see the car parked up on the other side of the road and she walks behind it and then again from another angle This is of course set in London.

Later on I THINK I saw an XJ-S convertible, as the body lines seem to have the right lineage...

Oh, the film is really good, get to your local pictures and watch it! BUT, for me as a car nerd, and bloke living in Germany, a few of the scenes don't work out

The cars driven and which are used for filming are periodically correct
(W124, W201, Audi 100, Porsche 964 Turbo, Lada 2101/Riva, Lada Niva, Wartburg 353, Trabant 601, Moskvich and Skodas galore (on the East Berlin scenes) but the road scenes are rather wrong. You can see for example the Fiat Ducato II (the late model) and Suzuki Splash models... They weren't quite around in 1989

Later on, in a "Ghetto" section of West or East Berlin (hard to tell, I would assume West), there is a rusty, worn out, burnt out, vandalized car... A Jaguar XJ40... Being that the film was set in 1989, the maximally 3 year old car would never look like that. Nobody would leave a car like that when it is ONLY 3 years old. I know the XJ40 had a habbit of just going wrong, but that is too soon

A few scenes show Berlin in the dark. Car headlights are visible... But with half the cars with yellow lights and the other half with white LED/xenon lights, it isn't totally right

But heck, the star of the film is still the arctic blue XJ-S at the beginning!
