Thanks for the reply Jagboi64. I should mention that I can't take credit for removing the ECU. Once I removed the vent panel and the black metal duct, the ECU fell out on its own. It was connected up fine, but was not screwed in at all! Obviously, someone has been there before. I have owned the car for 8 years or so, but this is the first time I needed to fix the Delanaire system. Anyways, I can see the two screws holding the servo in place, but I can't reach them. They are too high up. By removing the lower console panel, I take it you mean the panel that houses the radio and the two climate control knobs? That doesn't look too hard. I hope to never have to remove the dash!

No, I meant the part that has the footwell vent on it. Sometimes called the cheek panel. Removing the radio panel won't help. Removing the dash is easier than you think if you don't have an airbag car. With airbags there is a special tool to disarm them, but that's easily made.

What you might try for the motor screws is get a screwdriver bit and get it on the screw, then turn the bit with a small wrench. The screws are not that long and just go into plastic. Sometimes a small stubby or jewelers type screwdriver can just fit.

Two screws hold the ECU, one hole is slotted so just loosen the screw and then you can slide the ECU into place and that keeps it from falling out while you start the other screw.

Thinking further, the lower footwell trim piece (that would go above the passengers feet) was just held by clips on my 94, simply pull it down. Then you have access to reach up under the dash to get to the screws on the motor. Mine is an airbag car, yours might be different.

That's a good idea, using a screwdriver bit and a wrench rather than trying to squeeze a screwdriver up there. Thanks for the clarification on the radio panel. I have a '91, so it might be a bit different, but I did remove the panel above the passenger's feet (scuttle panel or underscuttle?). Access to the servo motor is still difficult. Once the screws are out, does it just pull out or is some gentle prying required? Thanks again. Always nice to chat with someone who has done it before.

The motor should just pull straight out. The drive is a flat tang into the blend drum, there is nothing holding it in place. You might need to pry gently, but it will come out.

Thanks for the info. That helps a lot. It sounds like I have done all the disassembly that is required. The rest should be easy.
