I hear ya ! :-)

Connections were THE big issue with Lucas wiring.

But let's face it.....if a 20-25 year old relay, switch, starter, alternator, etc fails and the label says AC Delco, Bosch, or Nippondenso, nobody gives it a second thought. If the label says Lucas, all the "prince of darkness" and "warm beer" remarks start flyin' !

sometimes when old starter relays stop working, you hook them up to the bigger power wires with more current where the trigger wires go, and that will usually force the sullenoid to click and then they work, for a little longer. Ive done this on several old cars that died in gasstations or parkinglots and left us places.

I think it just got some moisture in there or something. When I have a little time I'll pull it apart and clean the contacts. In the meantime, I'm just carrying a 2 foot length of wire to jump it when it decided to act up.
