Yeah 80k is a bit high, but at least cosmetically I'd say it looks better than a lot of lower mileage cars I've seen for sale. Judging from the RR Ghost casually parked next the stack of XJSs (lol) I'd venture that these cars were run on a fairly unlimited budget.

And yes, the acquisition took place from Nov 89 to Feb 90. So that bit is incorrect- unless you make the argument that the XJS wasn't designed under Ford, which would be valid. But the way he states it in the ad is wrong, I agree.

Yeah it is a loose term and these cars could easily appear showroom new in every way except the engine has 80k miles on it. If it was taken care of, it may be hard to discern whether that looks any different either. I've seen engines with 200k that had very visibly crosshatching.

I'm definitely getting a lift like this when I get a garage. It works perfect for smaller spaces, especially because the type of cars I like are pretty short, like the XJS. The trucks and SUVs are fine sitting outside

Note: the paint scheme on the cabinets is butt friggin ugly, but I suppose it is better than the unfinished skeleton most people leave in their garages.

5 xjs?
all facelift, all with the same wheels, at least 4/5 convertibles, 2/5 red and 2/5 white?

i guess "variety is the spice of life" doesn't apply here.

i'm honestly more interested in that 850 hiding behind the escalade.

I used to be the same way. First "toy" I bought after college was an 85 Toyota Supra and it became such an obsession that I went through nine of them, having up to four at one time.

In 2004 I decided to sell all but my first original Supra (the silver one in the foreground) and diversify, going back to my high school used muscle car roots adding a 68 Mustang and 69 Corvette. So many cars on my wish list but the early 80s was my time so an XJS is high up there.
